so the race day arrived yesterday after so many sessions of trainings.
we met at school at 745am to collect our jerseys and have briefings. and since it was our very first race, the juniors were pretty nervous about it. we wont know who is going down for the race until before the race itself. race was held at Bedok Reservoir. the first race started at 1030am which is for the seniors. i have totally no idea about what were the results for those races which the seniors went down for, i only know the results for mixed IVP (is it called that?) and Women's Category Open (urm...?). for mixed IVP, i dint get to go down. was disappointed initially, but come to think about it, David (our coach) must have his reasons for putting the others down, so dint really think about it that much anymore and went to give my moral support instead. (: one team got disqualified due to dont-know-what reasons but our team came in last. in Women's Category Open, we too got the last position. i have no idea about the feedbacks on the mixed IVP but for the race that i was involved, according to Xan and Jil (our coxswain), during charging we picked up real fast and nearly caught up with the boat in front but just lack of power and our timing were off. it was the junior's first race so they dint expect much from us. then after that, i was dozing away while waiting for the different races to start.
went back to Bedok Reservoir today again to support the seniors who are going down for the races. then got involved in some PA (PAssion) race, came in third. 300metres race. was leading initially during the initial push, but power dropped way too fast after that, then came in third. we're told that PA race is just for experience for us and i forgot to take the medal until somebody in my team reminded me. perhaps it is not really that significant to me (psychology!). =/ those guys in my team are full of craps man. their strategy a bit nonsensical lah. guys will always be guys.
dinner had been provided at school (buffet!hmmm...) and while walking out, it became too eerie so me and Kel headed back to where the guys were to wait and walk out with them. its only 815pm and its already so eerie at school. yes, the guys did laughed at us.
so tired, shag, worn out.
taking a break from training.
next race: Sabah race.
